Axiomatizations for Probabilistic Finite-State Behaviors

چکیده
We study a process calculus which combines both nondeterministic and probabilistic behavior in the style of Segala and Lynch’s probabilistic automata. We consider various strong and weak behavioral equivalences, and we provide complete axiomatizations for finite-state processes, restricted to guarded definitions in case of the weak equivalences. We conjecture that in the general case of unguarded recursion the “natural” weak equivalences are undecidable. This is the first work, to our knowledge, that provides a complete axiomatization for weak equivalences in the presence of recursion and both nondeterministic and probabilistic choice.

Compositional Reasoning for Probabilistic Finite-State Behaviors
We study a process algebra which combines both nondeterministic and probabilistic behavior in the style of Segala and Lynch’s simple probabilistic automata. We consider strong bisimulation and observational equivalence, and provide complete axiomatizations for a language that includes parallel composition and (guarded) recursion. The presence of the parallel composition introduces various techn...
متن کاملProbabilistic Propositional Temporal Logics
We present two (closely-related) propositional probabilistic temporal logics based on temporal logics of branching time as introduced The first logic, PTLf, is interpreted over finite models, while the second logic, PTLb, which is an extension of the first one, is interpreted over infinite models with transition probabilities bounded away from O. The logic PTLf allows us to reason about finite-...
متن کاملAggregation in Swarm Robotic Systems: Evolution and Probabilistic Control
In this study we investigate two approachees for aggregation behavior in swarm robotics systems: Evolutionary methods and probabilistic control. In first part, aggregation behavior is chosen as a case, where performance and scalability of aggregation behaviors of perceptron controllers that are evolved for a simulated swarm robotic system are systematically studied with different parameter sett...
متن کاملAxiomatic characterizations of probabilistic and cardinal-probabilistic interaction indices
In the framework of cooperative game theory, the concept of interaction index, which can be regarded as an extension of that of value, has been recently proposed to measure the interaction phenomena among players. Axiomatizations of two classes of interaction indices, namely probabilistic interaction indices and cardinal-probabilistic interaction indices, generalizing probabilistic values and s...
متن کاملFinite Equational Bases in Process Algebra: Results and Open Questions
Van Glabbeek (1990) presented the linear time/branching time spectrum of behavioral equivalences for finitely branching, concrete, sequential processes. He studied these semantics in the setting of the basic process algebra BCCSP, and tried to give finite complete axiomatizations for them. Obtaining such axiomatizations in concurrency theory often turns out to be difficult, even in the setting ...
